Common Basement Problems

There are two typical basement problems, you may experience one or both.

A Leaky Basement And Or Cracking Walls, Inward Movement

Seepage at the cove, where floor meets wall combined with wet bottom courses of block is a common symptom efflorescence and wet spots or areas higher on the walls commonly found at corner areas could be another.  Hydrostatic, or water below your foundation can also be found in some metro areas. Symptoms are commonly seepage thru floor cracks, seepage at cove and sump pump (if applicable) running frequently. 

(Structural Problems)
Cracked, Bowed Or Tipped Walls

Many homes suffer from inward movement of walls caused by soil pressure.  Symptoms can range from step cracks, vertical shears, horizontal cracks to the wall actually sliding in at lower sections.
